The Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry, CMH Lahore Medical College and Institute of Dentistry, under the supervision of Dr. Asma Shakoor (Head of Department), along with faculty members Dr. Ali Anwaar, Dr. Faiza Chishti, Dr. Javariya Ashraf, Dr. Zainab Noor, and Dr. Yousma Javed, and a team of 12 house officers, successfully conducted its first outreach visit on 29th October 2025 to Nawaz Sharif School of Excellence for Early childhood Education.
The activity focused on promoting Oral health awareness and preventive care among children, encouraging them to take charge of their own health.
The Nawaz Sharif School of Excellence is the first public Early Childhood Centre project by the Government of Punjab, dedicated to fostering holistic growth and well-being in young learners.
A total of 240 children, aged 3.5 to 4.5 years from Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten, received Oral screening and a brushing technique demonstration. The visit included the distribution of Colgate brushing kits, puzzles, and educational pamphlets.
Most children exhibited good oral hygiene, while a few presented with rampant caries and plaque accumulation, highlighting the importance of continued preventive oral health education.
