Introduction
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, CMH Lahore Medical College, and Institute of Dentistry was established in 2008. It is a comprehensive setup catering to the needs of patients with utmost diligence and professionalism. Our team is fully dedicated to patient care and the education of our students and residents. We aim to serve the university, community, and profession with utmost zeal and contribute to ongoing dental and medical education as well as scientific research and publications. We are proud to declare that our Department also runs a nationally recognized post graduate residency program with nine enrolled trainees. Our facility is in charge of providing undergraduate and postgraduate students with training, building competence in clinical skills in addition to inculcating professional conduct in line with the highest traditions of the medical field. We are a team of consultants, demonstrators, residents, and students headed by Prof. Dr. Asad Aizaz Chatha that aims to provide quality care and ensure patient safety and satisfaction. The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service provides a broad range of surgical treatments including but not limited to: -Exodontia and dentoalveolar surgery -Minor Oral Surgical procedures -Orofacial pain disorder management -Dental Implantology -Maxillofacial trauma surgeries -Management of oral pathologies and carcinomas -Treatment of salivary gland cancers and disorders -Cleft lip and palate surgeries -Management of the temporomandibular joint disorder -Facial esthetic surgeries -Management of odontogenic infections -Ambulatory general anesthesia and deep sedation In addition to this, we offer radiological diagnostic aids such as: -Digital panoramic and cephalometric radiographs -Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) -Digital Periapical Imaging The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers an outpatient facility, a well equipped inpatient ward with 33 beds and two state-of-the-art operation theatres managed by our highly trained and professional doctors and nursing staff who aim at nothing but empathy and patient care.
