Biography

Dr. Hira Sohail is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at CMH Lahore Medical College and Institute of Dentistry with extensive experience in medical education, research, and academic leadership. She graduated with an MBBS from King Edward Medical University (First Division) and later completed her M.Phil in Biochemistry from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, followed by a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Lahore. She has also earned certification in Health Professions Education (CHPE), reflecting her strong commitment to advancing teaching and learning practices in medical education.

Dr. Sohail has progressed through multiple academic roles, including Demonstrator, Senior Demonstrator, Assistant Professor, and currently Associate Professor, where she leads undergraduate teaching, manages examination processes, and supervises practical and clinical training for medical and allied health students. She is actively involved in academic development as an Associate Editor of MedERA Journal, a peer reviewer for Cureus, and a member of institutional academic committees.

Her research portfolio is substantial, with numerous publications in national and international journals focusing on cardiovascular disease, lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, endocrinology, and medical education. Her work includes studies on Apo lipoprotein gene polymorphisms, bone metabolism in thalassemia, and metabolic risk factors in various populations. She has also received recognition in poster competitions and has actively participated in conferences, workshops, and faculty development programs, particularly in medical education and research methodologies. Dr. Sohail continues to contribute significantly to both biochemistry research and innovative medical teaching practices.
