World Physiotherapy Congress 2023 at Dubai World Trade Centre Dr. Wajida Perveen, Associate Prof. and Head of Department of Physical Therapy, School of Allied Health Sciences CMH Lahore Medical College & IOD participated at the World Physiotherapy Congress 2023 (2-4 June) held at World Trade Center Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The inaugural ceremony was hosted by Emma Stokes Ex-President World Physiotherapy, Naima Saleh President Emirates Physiotherapy Society and Jackie Whittaker Chair of Congress Programme Committee. All three days were a rich learning and sharing experience comprising of Focused Symposia (FS), Discussion Sessions (DS), seminars (SEM), platform sessions (PLS), Networking Sessions (NWS) and Indaba sessions. Along with these sessions, there were two rounds of e-posters and printed poster exhibition daily for three days. Dr. Wajida presented one printed poster abstract and also chaired an e-poster session. Moreover she co-chaired two networking session (NWS) one on Health Promotion in Life and Work and the other on Environmental Physiotherapy.
Besides these commitments, Dr Wajida met different stake holders including the CEO of World Physiotherapy Jonathon Kruger, CEO Physiopedia Rachael Lowe, and Scientific Editor of Journal of Physiotherapy, member steering committee Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) Mark Alkins and many more during the event. Matters of mutual interest were discussed with relevant professionals. Along with these formal sessions, there was industry exhibitions and stalls from various institutions and service providers. The conference venue was full of participants from across the globe. A large number of volunteers were available to assist the visitors. The congress provided the unique opportunity to the global PT community to see, meet and interact with each other. An inaugural reception was arranged after formal sessions on 2nd June and a culturally flavored closing ceremony was held on the evening of 4th June 2023.
