Seminar on World Health day at CMH Lahore Medical College The department of Community Medicine, CMH Lahore Medical College organized a seminar to commemorate World Health Day on 7th April 2023. Each year, the World Health Organization (WHO), on its founding day, selects a theme to highlight current global health priorities, educate people and policy makers about the issues, and to create awareness for their prevention. The theme for this year, as declared by WHO, was “Health for All”. Before the seminar, there was a poster exhibition by students of MBBS, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, in the Community Medicine Museum, which was inaugurated by Maj Gen Naeem Naqi HI (M), the Principal of the College. Following that an awareness walk was held in which faculty and students participated actively. This activity was followed by a seminar on “Health for All”. The Principal was the chief guest on the occasion. Other prominent members of faculty were also present including VP Admin Brig Saqib Zaheer & VP Academics Brig (R) Arif Mehmood. A large number of people turned up at the seminar to improve their understanding of the subject. The seminar started with recitation of the Holy Quran. The speakers were professor Dr. M. Ashraf Chaudhry, Head of Community Medicine, who talked about “75 years of Improving Public Health “& Dr. Gul Shaikh, Head of LQEC, whose topic was “Challenges in UHC in Pakistan”. At the end of the seminar the souvenirs and certificates were distributed among participants of the seminar.
