Biography

Born on 19th Jan 1957 at Hafizabad (Punjab), Pakistan. Passed higher school in 1972 and Intermediate in 1974. Passed MBBS examination in 1981 from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Diploma in Clinical Pathology in 1986 and M Phil Microbiology in 1988 from Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lahore.

After graduation has been serving in various prestigious teaching institutions of Punjab in different positions. Started career in Pathology as demonstrator in Pathology department of KEMC (University) in 1983. Then went to postgraduate medical institute, Lahore for M Phil Microbiology. After completion of M Phil got selected as assistant professor microbiology and served at postgraduate medical institute from 1992 to 2004. Here, I was involved in teaching and training of Postgraduate Medical Students of different Clinical Diploma and M. Phil Degrees in the subject of Microbiology. At the same time, supervised a number of research projects of different postgraduate medical students leading to M. Phil Microbiology degree.

Then worked as assistant professor Microbiology at SIMS from 2004 to 2006.  Here main job was teaching MBBS students. Got promotion to post of associate professor worked in pathology department from 2006 to 2012. Ten got promoted  as professor of pathology and worked at Dera Ghazi Khan Medical College from 2012 to 2013.

Since 2013 has been working at CMH Lahore Medical College, Lahore as professor of Microbiology. Presently working as Professor of Pathology at CMH Lahore Medical College, Lahore and involved in teaching subject of Microbiology ( including General Bacteriology; Special Bacteriology; Immunology; Parasitology; Virology; Mycology) and Pathology to undergraduate MBBS medical students and BS (Honors) Nursing students.

During all this period has been Examiner and paper setter for different under & postgraduate examinations at National University of Medical Sciences, Rawalpindi and University of Health Sciences, Lahore. Has more than 75 research articles and attended more than 50 workshops/conferences/seminars. Reviewer to JCPSP, Biomedica and Life and Science Journal. Member National Academy of Medical Sciences, Life Member Pakistan Association Pathologists (PAP),Member Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Society (MMIDS)
