Introduction
CMH Medical College and Institute of Dentistry were established in 2006 & 2008 respectively. Institute of Dentistry is an integral part of CMH Lahore Medical College, Lahore. It is situated in the serene location of Lahore Cantonment. It covers a total land of 12 acres. It has a purpose-built magnanimous campus that depicts utmost professionalism. It is a complete blend of intellectual architecture, accessibility, and comfort.
Head of Department
Prof.Brig. Rehan Uddin is working as a Professor and Head of the Dermatology Department in addition to being Director of Faculty Development, at CMH Lahore Medical College & IOD. He has around 20 Publications to his name.
He has the honor of taking the initiative of planning and organizing the first-ever National Intensive Dermatology Preparatory Course for Candidates appearing in the MCPS, MD and FCPS Examination in April 2005. To date, 32 courses have been conducted and more than 1000 candidates from all over the country have benefited from this. In Dec 2018 he took another initiative of organizing and conducting the first-ever Basic Concept Course of Dermatology designed for trainees in Dermatology.
Brig Rehan has a special interest in innovative teaching techniques which forced him to acquire a
Master’s degree in Medical Education by CPSP in 2012. This helped him to plan and start faculty development programs at CMH Lahore Medical College. Since then, he has conducted more than 100 workshops on different aspects of Medical Education. Workshops for Faculty Development were conducted in various Institutes all over the country including CPSP, CSS Academy, AMC, SIMS and Naval War College. He is one of the pioneer medical educationists in Pakistan to utilize the Learning Response System. He also created organized and executed public awareness program with the name of “EDUTAINMENT” in Karachi for 400 participants in March 2011 and in Lahore for 700 people in Dec 2014
In pursuit of another milestone as an educationist, he launched an online course for a Certificate in Health Professions Education at CMH LMC, involving a team of highly reputed educationists from the country & abroad. In three courses conducted until now, 356 faculty members have participated. The 4th Course is commencing from Jan 2023.
