Introduction
Prosthodontics is one of the major clinical specialties of dentistry, that deals with the replacement of missing oro-facial structures and post cancer resection rehabilitation of patients. The department includes a clinical hall and various dental laboratories to support the clinic. It also houses a state-of-the-art CAD/CAM laboratory as well. The services offered to the patients include from simple removable dentures; fixed conventional bridges to advanced fixed restorations including CAD/CAM based guided implant treatments and maxillofacial obturators.

Prosthodontics department consists of:
- Prosthodontic clinic (Clinical Hall – 2) houses 18 dental units.
- A consultant clinic
- Prosthodontics laboratory
- Ceramic laboratory
- Plaster Room
- CAD/CAM laboratory
Teaching & Training:
Prosthodontics department is involved in:
- Pre-clinical prosthodontics teaching & training in 2nd year BDS.
- Clinical training for 3rd year & Final year BDS students.
- Clinical rotation for the house job – almost 15 doctors in each batch.
- Prosthodontics department is also accredited for postgraduate FCPS training with currently 10 PGs under training.
Research & Publications:
All the faculty members and postgrad students engage in active research projects and have a number of publications both in national & international journals.
Head of Department
The Department of Prosthodontics at CMH Lahore Medical College & Institute of Dentistry is committed to excellence in patient care, undergraduate teaching, postgraduate training, and clinical research. Our newly designed and well-maintained department is equipped with 18 dental units, dedicated prosthodontic laboratories, student training facilities, and in-house CAD/CAM technology for the fabrication of ceramic restorations.
The department also includes a custom-designed discussion room to support interactive learning for undergraduate students and postgraduate residents. With a strong academic team comprising one Professor, one Associate Professor, three Assistant Professors, and four Demonstrators, we provide structured clinical supervision and mentorship to our students and postgraduate trainees.
Our aim is to deliver high-quality prosthodontic care while developing competent, ethical, and skilled dental professionals prepared to meet contemporary clinical challenges.
