Introduction
The Pharmacology Department at the Institute of Dentistry, CMH Lahore Medical College, is committed to providing a rigorous and comprehensive education in pharmacology, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Our curriculum covers core topics such as pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, clinical pharmacology, and toxicology, tailored specifically for the undergraduate dental students.
We employ innovative teaching methods, including case-based learning, interactive lectures, and hands-on laboratory exercises, to engage students and deepen their understanding of drug actions and therapeutic principles. Our assessment methods are multifaceted, combining written examinations, objective structured practical examinations (OSPEs), and oral examinations, to ensure a thorough grasp of pharmacological concepts and clinical relevance.
The department fosters a research-oriented environment. We have a well-equipped laboratory with state-of-the-art facilities to carry out in-vitro studies for better understanding of drugs mechanisms of action and dose related effects.

Read MoreDr. Usman Aslam is serving as Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at CMH Lahore Medical College and Head of the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Dentistry. He completed his MBBS in 2012, M.Phil. in Pharmacology from the University of Health Sciences in 2021, and MS in Healthcare Management and Innovation from LUMS in 2024. Alongside his academic responsibilities, he leads the BDS Entrepreneurship Program, with a focus on integrating healthcare innovation and entrepreneurial skills into dental education.
