In lieu of the ongoing global breast cancer awareness campaign, Breast Cancer Awareness Day was observed in CMH Lahore Medical College & Institute of Dentistry. It was organized by the joint collaboration of Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics and the Department of Surgery.
The guest speaker was Dr Huma Majeed, a renowned breast surgeon. She gave an inspirational talk advocating conscious awareness by the health professionals about the alarming high incidence of breast cancer in Pakistan. She cleared the various myths about the condition and emphasised upon the importance of correct clinical examination and early detection of breast cancer resulting in better prognosis. The talk was followed by a vibrant question answer session in which both faculty and students actively participated.
At the end, the guest speaker was given college shield as a token of thanks.
