Introduction

Department of Anaesthesiology was established in August 2017. Qualified and Experienced staff and faculty were appointed. Department started working in new building of Maxillofacial Surgery Centre in 2018. It is situated on the second floor where state of the art two modular operation theaters equipped with modern and sophisticated Anaesthesia workstations, monitors and other surgical requirements. Here well equipped pre-operative and post-operative care units are part of the facility. Department apart from academic activity provide anaesthesia services to dental surgery & especially to pediatric dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. Anaesthesia management, of major and advanced level complicated maxillofacial operations is successfully provided which includes trauma, tumor and reconstructive surgeries. Department of anaesthesiology hold training session on cardio pulmonary resusutation and basic airway management techniques not only for students of Medical College and Allied Institution, but also for paramedical and support Staff. It will be good to mention here that students to get acquainted with clinical skills before approaching patient, CMH Lahore Medical College has founded a skill lab, Which comprises a number of mannequins of different related to clinical specialties and it is a step ahead in a modern learning facility. At pre graduate level Anaesthesiology as a surgical allied specialty follow schedule of curriculum in the form of lectures and clinical classes for MBBS. In this short period of five year department of anaesthesiology has six research articles published in national and international Medical Journals.
