PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

14th September 2017 to date:  PROFESSOR  of Paediatric Dentistry, Institute of Dentistry, CMH Lahore Medical College, Lahore

Main Responsibilities:

  • My academic duties include the didactic, pre-clinical and clinical training of the undergraduate as well as to the interns (House Surgeons) in Operative & Paediatric Dentistry.
  • Presently, I am Course Director of Operative Dentistry of Final year BDS class. 

April 2011 to 13th September 2017: ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR & HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, Operative & Paediatric Dentistry, Institute of Dentistry, CMH Lahore Medical College, Lahore

Main Responsibilities:

  • My academic duties include the didactic, pre-clinical and clinical training of the undergraduate as well as to the interns (House Surgeons) in Operative & Paediatric Dentistry.
  • Presently, I am Course Director of Operative Dentistry of Final year BDS class.

  • My academic duties include the didactic, pre-clinical and clinical training of the undergraduate as well as to the interns (House Surgeons) in Paediatric Dentistry.
  • In addition I was given the responsibility as Course Director of Community & Preventive Dentistry of 2nd year BDS class in 2007.

September 1997 to September 2006 – LECTURER/SPECIALIST in the Division of Paediatric Dentistry, College of Dentistry, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • My academic duties include the didactic, pre-clinical and clinical training of the undergraduate, postgraduates students and as well as to the interns (House Surgeons) in Paediatric Dentistry.
  • I was Course Director of Clinical Paediatric Dentistry course of 4th year BDS class for 2 years from September 2004 to June 2006. The course provides didactic and clinical training of children with mixed dentition aged 8 to 14 years. I was also responsible for conducting their class tests, final written and clinical examination.
  • I was Course Director of Pre-Clinical Paediatric Dentistry course of 3rd year BDS class for 2 years from September 2002 to June 2004. The course provided didactic and laboratory based paediatric dentistry procedures. I was also responsible for conducting their didactic and laboratory examination.
  • I was Course Director of Comprehensive Clinical Paediatric Dentistry Course of final year BDS class for 2 years from September 2000 to June 2002. The course provided them clinical training of treating preschool and young paediatric patients aged 3 to 8 years. I was also responsible for conducting their final written examination.
  • I was Course Director of Pre-Clinical Paediatric Dentistry Course of 3rd year BDS class for 3 years from September 1997 to June 2000 which included didactic and laboratory based pediatric dentistry procedures. I was also responsible for conducting their didactic and laboratory examination.
  • Participation in Paediatric Dentistry postgraduate programs (Master’s & Saudi Board in Paediatric Dentistry). I was given the responsibilities of lectures, conducting seminars, clinical supervision, providing treatment to disabled children and complete oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia.
  • Clinical supervision of interns (House Surgeons) for healthy patients and treatment of uncooperative patients under premedication and relative analgesia.
  • I was also research supervisor of the interns (House Surgeons) in their research projects for their seminar presentation as part of their internship training program.
  • Two specialist clinical sessions for paediatric patients in a week.

June 1994 to September1997 – SPECIALIST PAEDODONTIST in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry, Al-Amiri Specialist Dental Center, Ministry of Health, Kuwait. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Treatment to Paediatric Dentistry Patients.
  • Weekly – General Anesthesia list for patients with learning difficulties and uncooperative patients.
  • Clinical supervisor of the Kuwaiti dental graduates from abroad in various areas of Paediatric Dentistry, as a part of their clinical training.
  • Once a month on rotation – Coverage of all types of paediatric dental emergencies in emergency dental center clinic.

April 1992 to June 1994 –LECTURER/DEMONSTRATOR in the Paediatric Dentistry Section of de’Montmorency College of Dentistry, Lahore, Pakistan. 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Didactic and clinical training of the undergraduate students in all areas of Paediatric Dentistry and also conducted seminars and provided clinical training to postgraduate students in operative dentistry.
  • Clinical duties included, providing treatment to the paediatric patients, clinical training of the interns (House Surgeons) in restorative and preventive procedures of paediatric dentistry and weekly treatment of uncooperative and learning difficulties patients under General Anesthesia.

October 1991 to April 1992 – Paedodontist and in-charge of the Paediatric Dentistry Section in Punjab Dental Hospital, Lahore, which is affiliated with de’Montmorency College of Dentistry, Punjab University, Lahore, Pakistan.

  • I was responsible for the training and clinical supervision of the interns (House Surgeons) in paediatric and preventive procedures of paediatric Dentistry and treatment of uncooperative and learning difficulties patients under General Anesthesia. 

November 1990 to October 1991 – I worked as Dental Surgeon in Primary Health Center, Farooka, District Sargodha, Pakistan.

October 1989 to September 1990 – Full time postgraduate student for the degree of M.Sc in the field of PEDIATRIC AND PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY, School of Dentistry, The Queen’s University of Belfast, UK.

March 1987 to February 1988
