Introduction

Community Outreach Program:

The Department of Community & Preventive Dentistry, IOD, CMH Lahore Medical College Lahore conducted a School Dental Health Program in all Garrison schools located in the Cantonment region. A total of 14702 (2020) students from playgroup to Matriculation, O/A Levels were examined. Students were examined and educated about the importance of good oral hygiene. Caries, Periodontal and Oral Hyenine indices were used to quantify the data. The department is also involved in the uplift of the oral health status of under privileged students by educating them, demonstrating the proper brushing technique, distributing educational material not only for them but also for improving the oral health of their families.

Continuous Professional Development Program

The Department members have been involved in various continuous professional development programs which includes Certificated of Health Professional Education, Faculty Development Workshops and continuous medical education workshops. These CPD Programs pave the path to effectively teach the students and use modern up to date teaching modalities.
