The department is headed by the renowned cardiovascular surgeon Lt Gen (R) Syed Afzal Ahmad (Principal of the College).

Located adjacent to the IMRC and Trauma Centre. This is an imposing structure beautifully designed with a sandstone façade to give a modern classic look. It will be completed in September 2007 and will be equipped with the latest facilities in cardiology e.g., indoor and outdoor departments, CCU, ETT, Echocardiography, Thallium (Nuclear) Scans, Coronary angiography and angioplasties. It would also enable patients to access cardiac special treatment including coronary artery bypass grafting, vascular heat surgery and congenital heart diseases. This sophisticated 75 bedded cardiac centre will be manned by highly qualified and skilled doctors assisted by a team of dedicated nursing staff. Cardiac centre will play a vital and undeniable role in keeping up with the accelerated advancements in the health care system.
