Capabilities

Rehabilitation Medicine is a newly introduced specialty and the older physiotherapy departments have been replaced by more scientific rehabilitation medicine department. In addition to physiotherapy other tools of rehabilitation medicine include occupational therapy, psychological rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation and provision of prosthesis.

Rehabilitation Medicine Department at CMH Lahore is a rapidly expanding department. It provides consultation services by a person who is well trained in the subject. He is assisted by a civil physiotherapist. Provision of electro diagnostic services (NCS/EMG) is recent addition. Latest electro medical equipment is available in the department. Equipment includes deep heating modalities like short wave and ultra sound therapy, Diathermy Electrotherapy unit, Digital traction units and therapeutic exercise machines. Prosthetic facilities are available in collaboration with rehabilitation medicine department Mayo Hospital Lahore. Psychology rehabilitation services are provided in collaboration with psychiatry department.
